N E X T G E N E R A T I O N Builders

In 2018, the CHBA partnered with students at Wando High School to build a Tiny House in efforts to encourage students to pursue careers in many professions and trades involved in the construction of homes.
The CHBA's next project is Trades Day, an educational platform on promoting the careers in the trades, why they matter, and available opportunities in the Lowcountry. The goal of Trades Day is to tap into and pique the interest of undeveloped skills in trades such as framing/woodwork, plumbing, electric, landscape, masonry, painting and tile, just to name a few. So stay tuned for the future of the building industry!
The Charleston Home Builders Association is committed to the future of the Lowcountry through strengthening the local housing industry's workforce with skilled construction tradesmen & women. In order to solve the labor shortage, we have created a group called Next Generation Builders, whose efforts are focused solely on teaching the kids the opportunities available working in the trades.
